Minimum Wage
Chicago Minimum Wage Attorneys
Federal law mandates that a minimum hourly wage be paid to certain employees. However, some employers may try to get around this requirement either through refusing to pay the rate required by the law, or more subtly, by forcing employees to put in hours off the clock or deducting wages for meals or housing.. At Keogh Law Ltd., our lawyers will fight to hold unscrupulous employers accountable for their refusal to follow the law.
If you are being underpaid by an employer, contact us online today or call 866-726-1092 to speak to an attorney regarding your rights as an employee.

Ways That Employers Try to Get Around Wage Laws
While some employers may flat-out refuse to pay their employees what is mandated by federal and state law, most employers who violate this law will do so in a less obvious way. Some of the ways that employers may try to get around wage laws include:
- Paying lower rates that are approved for trainees to employers that cannot be classified as trainees
- Not paying required overtime
- Forcing employees to work off-the-clock
- Misclassifying employees as volunteers
- Taking a larger amount than is allowed for tip deductions
- Making excessive paycheck deductions for services provided by the employer, such as food and housing
At Keogh Law Ltd. , we will work tirelessly to hold employers accountable for their illegal and harmful actions. If instances of unpaid wages are widespread, we have extensive experience representing large groups of people in class action litigation. We are dedicated to helping wronged employees fight for the compensation that they deserve.
